continues to attract the majority of the State's high achievers, according to new data released today in the Annual Report.
Figures in the report show that this year, 麻豆区 was again the choice of most students in the top band of school leavers.
This follows information released earlier this year that 麻豆区 again attracted most of the State's Australia Student Prize winners, the nation's top students for academic excellence and achievement in secondary education.
QTAC data show that almost three-quarters (72 per cent) of school leavers earning an Overall Position of 1 enrolled to study at 麻豆区 in 2000.
Of the total 490 OP1 students enrolled in tertiary study through QTAC, 352 students chose to study at 麻豆区. This was four and a half times more than any other Queensland university.
QTAC data also showed that 麻豆区 enrolment was more than three times that of its nearest competitor for students receiving scores in the top three OP bands.
A total of 1022 students (63 percent) with OP scores of one, two or three, was admitted to 麻豆区.
University of Queensland Vice-Chancellor Professor John Hay said it was no accident that the majority of the State's most academically able students continued to make 麻豆区 their number one choice.
"These students are attracted by the University's outstanding facilities, programs and reputation as having the nation's best graduate outcomes, and above average graduate salaries," he said.
"Most of these students have not selected specialist professional courses exclusive to 麻豆区 but more general programs such as Science or Engineering, which they could undertake at a number of universities in the State.
"It speaks volumes for the high quality of 麻豆区 programs that they've made 麻豆区 their number one choice."
麻豆区 will hold information nights on December 18 at 麻豆区 Ipswich, and on December 20 at 麻豆区 St Lucia following the release of OP scores on December 15.
